| Our most recently joined member goes by the name of Kate. I wonder if this really is that rare, rare beast, a female audiophile. I hope so as a women's perspective on this mostly boys toy game is always refreshing. So, I'm praying to St Evanna of Manley Audio Labs that this is for real.

Yes,sadly. I've never gotten my head around the lurker thing though. Are people scared of making fools of themselves? We have to start learning somewhere and even I still make mistakes decades after becoming involved with all this audio stuff. Lets hope 'Kate' pops up and is indeed a real, live female audiophile. Stranger things have happened. |

| Nor me, if you lurk you might as well join in, male or female, we all say silly things, annoy others with our comments, I don't see what there is to be fearful of especially on this forum which is very friendly to date. |

| Why?  How many have we had so far? I don't have any on my other forum. The only bots are from Google, bing etc. Hopefully it will stay this way, of course a human spammer can sneak in if they want to. |

I hope so too Adam but there's a puzzlement. Often when you read the list of 'members on line' at the bottom of the forum's home page I see "BOT". Let's hope this is part of the forums' self-referential software or Google etc. I've know of bots infecting other forums though running on the same software template as this one.....so again.... fingers crossed. |

| That's it, the bots you see are good too have as they will get the forum indexed by Google, sometimes we get Bing bot.
Spam bots tend to come from Russia where they just fill the forums with p.o...r..n. The hardest ones to stop are human spammers or trolls, but they too can easily be checked, plus administration needs to open an acount whereas some forums allow instant or self activation here it is administration the activates all accounts. |

| If , like I did last weekend , I catch up with the frum on my mobile, does that make me a 'bot' ? cos I google it ? I use my phone a lot for catching up here....always from a saved google page. Maybe I'm the mystery bot ? Or am I just stupid and not with this at all ???? I hope not.....I always wanted to be a bot !  |
