| I notice Audio Technica has got a new range of MCs, has anyone managed to hear on yet or are they still a bit new for any feedback to feed through? some of their carts get a lot of praise. |

It would be interesting to hear what their latest efforts are but even though I get more opportunities than most to hear systems other than my own it could be a long time before I get to hear any of them. I,m unwilling though to stick my neck out with an evaluation unless I hear a cartridge on my own turntable & phono preamp. Chances of that happening now that I'm no longer on the mainland and socializing with a bunch of lunatic audiophools are very slim. I'd really like to hear the replacement for the OC9 Mk2 as the Garrot Bros re-build of that model I ran for a few years was wonderful although I found it didn't enjoy room temperatures below 18 deg's (approx) . . . a summer time cartridge? |

| I've heard that too that the OC9 is a bit bright and screechy but others rave about the AT33 so I was curious to how the new range sounds as I feel my set up is a bit unbalanced it's the new Astintrew at8000 with a VPI scoutmaster with a little Denon DL110 so I feel the Denon is batting outside it's class and is being shown up a bit. |

| I use a DL110. and can only think of 3 carts I have heard that would get me interested in changing a DL301, Ortofon Rono Bronze, and the Blackbird. Out of the three I prefer the 301.
I want to have a listen to the new Nagaoka MP300 at some point though. |

| Well I ran an OC9MLII for a while and loved it. THEN I got a Linn Troika, game over. The OC9 tracked like it was on rails but the sound was undynamic and had a tilted response towards the treble. I only paid £160 for it so it was great vfm.
Is the new OC9 MLIII a ground up replacement or just an upgraded MLII? |
