What a little beauty she looks, they really know about styling at Musical Fidelity, it looks just right, the old X can was cute and this follows in its shoes perfectly.

Sorry but the looks don't turn me on. In fact I think most of Musical Fidelity's recent styling, especially their Primo range, is almost as sterile as Meridian's. And if you think that's blind prejudice I own a Meridian 808.2 CD player which to me looks as if it belongs in a dental surgery. If it didn't sound so fantastic I'd be looking for something else.

A friend runs my old Musical Fidelity LP 2 three 'can' phono preamp from my old Sota 'Saphire' TT and the cans looks sure still appeal. Can't figure why MF dropped that design. Maybe they found out 'she who must be obeyed' didn't like them?

The little volume control is the only fault JS. I'm sure a slightly nicer bigger nob would be better ?

It's a sad day for audio when looks become the determining factor of an audio product. geek scratch

it is indeed . I'll put up with some forms of what I consider ugliness, such as the absurd Flash Gordon looks of my Manley 'Steelhead' phono preamp but I will never allow one of those nasty yellow mid-range drivers a la B & W within sight of my listening room.

Why? Obviously not the final determining factor but I do want my gear to look nice. We do have to look at it, looks pay a part in my final decision.

I'm not going to say I don't give a damn what it looks like so long as it plays well, but in my case, looks definitely take the last place in the determining criteria.
