Never thought the time would come when i would sign up to a forum...

but here i am, dragged kicking and screaming into the digital age.

Iv'e been an audiophile since i was about 15, and i have to say i'm bang into vintage gear, specially The lovely old Jap stuff.
Not to say i don't love the valve sound, but a big monster tranny (careful what i say here...) turns me on.

My current system is as follows:

Homemade TT (halfway between a voyd and a oracle) with sumiko/jelco arm and denon 103
Teac VRDS 7 CD player
Sony 9000es SACD/DVD/CD
Onkyo 3090 preamp
Sansui AU-9500
Magneplanar MG1b

I have been collecting, buying and selling vintage gear as a hobby for about ten years and have owned just about every credible bit of gear going.... i love the stuff!... as i'm writing this, my pics are loading of my audiomaster LS3/5a's to stick on the bay!

regards and hope to have many 'audio-chats' in the future.

Hi FI Steve Very Happy

Thanks for making me feel welcome guys... 'spose i better share to the world my homemade TT (not acctually made by me..)

My mate Richard varney made it as an A level project when he was 17! (he's 40 now)

It really is something, all the woodwork is solid mahogony, the sub platter and even the bearing was hand made on a laith.
he even sandwiched layers of acrillic together to make the origianl platter! (it uses a gyro deck platter without the weights now)
the sub chassis is mdf sandwiched inbetween two sheets of acrillic & is sprung with 3 springs from an old garrard sp25 (!)

....now, how do i get pics up here?
