| are you building a system fella, or just looking at what to upgrade.
If you are building a system then you are at the start of what should be a very pleasurable journey, but to get the best advise we can offer, although it will contradictory, then give us all a clue, room size, furnishings, music taste, and how many pennies. |

| Spend more on a turntable is my advice, CD players around that kind of price are quite samey sounding, it's not till you spend more that difference become more apparent.
I don't think you'll go wrong with the marantz, if you like it's looks, it's within your budget, then get it. |

| Yep, most cd players in that price bracket will tread safe ground. I'd be suprised if you thought it sounded awful, put it that way. Myself and a mate both had Marantz players in the past, good sounding and always great build quality and value for money. |

| I had a Marantz CD63, nice smooth sound, I never got the fuss over the CD63SE tough,  It sounded no better, well hyped up in it's day though. |
