I'm not entirely sure aout the benefits of having so many headings under the music section.
Like most people I listen to music fairly randomly and may, for example, play Beethoven's violin concerto and follow it with some Ishtar Alabina then Bob Marley then some Fado.

If I want to make comments about any I have to swap between the different headings as each of my selection comes within a different category. Also, I'm pretty sure anything that gets filed in the World Music or Oriental section (and Ishtar Alabina strictly belongs to both) would probably never be noticed.

Would it not be better just to have two sections, one for classical and one for everything else, and people can post their own headings if they wish to differentiate? At the moment because there are so many sections its clumsy to use and the sections often don't adequately cover the type of music anyway.

Yes I agree - with the exception that I doubt we can trust posters to give accurate headings reflecting the kind of music they are discussing on any particular thread. On the other hand that could have the benefit of leading people to stumble across recommendations for music many of us would otherwise ignore at our loss.

I think it's ok the way it is. I realise some music covers more than one genre but at least this way I can avoid any music I rarely listen to.
