Not at all, in fact, the opposite is true - it's very hard to get rid of stray capacitance anywhere in electronics, including the cables. Capacitance is caused by material impurities. An ideal cable would have zero capacitance, inductance and impedance, and therefore zero interaction between the three, yielding a perfectly neutral character to the cable. |

| I don't know, but I want to know what these killer interconnects you tried were. |

| these interconnects are made by lfd, all the wires are solid silver, various different thicknesses, then coated with silicone..[individually] these interconnects are prototypes and werent put into production, possibly due to the prohibitive cost..lfd reference interconnects are 7k...these ones are super reference, lfd thought these were the best that could be made..but going back to the question of how much to spend on cables? i dont know? im now wondering whether to spend as much as possible on interconnects..my vdh were about a hundred quid a pair..i balked at spending that! it was worth it though..so i thought then, but now? i dont know..i cant afford 7k on interconnects..[who can?] but if i could? i wouldnt need to change my kit!..everything improved..esp the speakers..ill be sad to return them.. |

| In my experience, pure silver cables do sound better than most copper cables, always more revelaing, with finer detail, and never harsh. Measure them and you will note much lower levels of LRC interactions overall, especially regarding the frequency response.
I love them, although I have recently tried a copper cable which came DAMN near the pure silver at about 40% of their price. |

| Why do some manufactures on silver cables, lets say using 5N silver can make a 1 metre interconnect for 500 while another charges 5K? what is so different about the silver? |

The intrinistic properties of silver as a conductor are far better than those of even the best copper, however at a considerably higher price, mandated by the fact that silver is more rare than copper and is more difficult to manufacture (as a typical companion metal with copper, it needs to be separated first, a process unto itself).
It is little known but true that pure silver is a better electrical conductor than gold, and is second only to the absolute number one conductor, platinum. And that is DAMN expensive. Even if you could theoretically have a pair of 3 foot long stereo interconnect cables made for you, I very much doubt they would cost less € 20,000. It's THAT expensive.
As a result of this, silver cables indeed do sound different than any copper based cable I have ever heard. They tend to be clearer, better focused and less edgy, a little rounded off if you like.
I use them and swear by them, but I must in all honesty say that I have heard a few copper based cables which come incredibly close to silver, yet still cost only about half the price of silver. Look up Neothech's offerings if you can, they are the actual OEM manufacturers for many famous brands, which buy from them and resell to you for anything from 3 to 7 times the price. |
