 Single Ended versus Push Pull amplifiers

For those of you that are interested, and have wondered in the past of what these often quoted terms mean,

here's a 'down to earth' explanation, with schematics (and no maths), that explains in real layman's terms the two

approaches to amplifier design.

The author uses simple language and terms easily understood, with good humor as well and, I am sure, it will enlighten most of us about this subject.

hi arthur 74, you kindly replied to my post re mono. i feel that i must return the favour as nobody, so far has replied to your interesting and informative post! as a younger man, i pushed and pulled quite a lot, of course with amplifiers! when i got married my wife suggested i would do better with transistors! as you can imagine i was newly wed,i did what i was told!....its very difficult to give up the old habits, and i find myself thinking about my old life, pushing and pulling with my amplifiers...... silent

Very Happy Commendable!.. You know all about the practical side of the subject then!.. A bit of theory won't go amiss in that case!.. (about amplifiers of course..)

Ahem... I guess you can combine ... both, you never know she may enjoy it too!.. (pushing and pulling with your amplifiers, of course) Wink Wink


Come to think of it, ... ah... many women also enjoy digital (sound ... of course)! One has to be accommodating... Wink Wink
