It is friendly here, stick around and get involved, we are only small in number but we can make up for it in friendliness and making new friends around the globe. |

i dont own a ipod, nor an iphone,i quite liked my sony walkman.this is my girlfriends laptop, i spend most of my time trying to make my cds sound like my lps!mostly to no avail, my mate had a couple of quad valve monoblocks, cds got a lot closer, sort of? mmmh maybe i should give it up. get a ipod, download stuff, join the evolution! i would have more space. lower leccy bills, my partner would be a lot happier i have a suspicion that i have compulsive hifitus.last week,i spent 2hours comparing speaker cables i was happy as larry. do you think steve jobs can save me from myself? i hope so. happy listening, im off now to get rushs latest cd,

I'm quite please at how close know you can get Cds to sound more like a good piece of vinyl, I hated CD when it first appeared but now todays players with the right cables and other bits and bobs can sound really quite analogue. iPods are perfect for walking and jogging

dont get me wrong, i wasnt dissing ipods, i was loking at myself in a ironic hi fi dinosaur way,my daughter loves her ipod! im pleased that your cds sound closer to vinyl, i have stephen bishop playin beethoven bagatelles on vinyl, with clicks and pops it sonds fab,my cd of it thru my dac just isnt the same, perhaps ill go the valve route. i used to have valve gear, leak stuff, it looked like a city at night when it was going happy days

I will diss ipods, a load of crap!! U should maybe try a dac with a valve stage or solid and valve in one, u also have the option to get something like the Yaqin tube buffer, put it between ur cd and dac or ideally between dac and pre/integrated, I have used them in the past and they really are good, make things more analogue and warm. If u do end up getting one after a bnit of research for piece of mind I recommend the Yaqin CD2 and I have some brand new Mullard valves which fit it, which make it far better, I will send u them for free!

hola bushy tip, thats very kind, i shall do some research. im minded to change my cd player, the cds get boiling hot in the machine. im going to sell my old stuff to the local hifi shop, its warm again here. im also thinking monoblocks. those temple audio ones have my attention. 60 day trial! i have a couple of si amps, quite good,no bass tho. after an hour or so, i had enough, bit grating i didnt get that rush cd, the shop didnt have it so i bought a neil young one instead, fork in the road.2 good songs, rest bit iffy.waste of ten squid methinks
