Have you ever wondered how cd are made and the processed involved?. I found it most curious because in the process it quite clearly describes how metals are used in this process, where I have read on forum that there are not metals found in a compact disc, one product, the Acoustic revive RD-3 was classed as snake oil because it is used as a demagnetizer of these metals found in the CD disc during manufacturing process but many claimed the CD contains no metals so the RD-3 does nothing at all, but clearly in that clip he says that metals are used in the manufacturing process.

Apart from that little point it's still a good clip to see what actually is involved.

I watched the making of CDs on a program called how it's made, it also featured lps, clever sods ain't they.

All clever stuff dan, but the thing about metals in the discs really caught my attention because I have read that the discs contain no metal where in the clip clearly they do.

Different metals are used depending on the type of disc. They vary between aluminium, silver, gold and alloy variations. If memory serves the Dutch PDO pressing plant got the glue wrong in the 90s and this caused a chemical reaction with the metal layer so the discs would go amber coloured over time - and become unreadable.
